24 March 2010

I spent the day yesterday with my sister-in-law Jackie. She wants me to create a scrapbook for her of photos taken from her "Special" birthday party a couple of years ago. She saw the scrapbook that I had made for my sister's 40th birthday last year and loved it. So yesterday we went off to a couple of craft shops to stock up on some goodies ready for me to start her album! I tried to be careful with the items I was picking up, as Jackie was paying - but it was great buying craft stash and not footing the bill (well actually I did buy some "essential" stock that I "really" needed too LOL! We had a lovely lunch too - so all in all a great day. Now the "hard" work for me starts............ I'll post up photos of pages as and when I've completed them. Luckily for me Jackie has no time scale on this project (phew!)

Here are a couple of photos of a layout I did for my sister's 40th album last year.

PS Happy Birthday to my Sis!

Papertake Weekly Challenge: Lilac & Lemon

Was checking out Kath's blog and she had entered into the Papertake Weekly Challenge, which this week is lilac and lemon - well by coincidence I had on my craft desk a lilac and lemon card that I was just finishing off!! So thought I would enter too. The paper is from Pink Petticoat, and the card candy, butterfly and birthday ovals are from Craftwork Cards.

Mother's Day and Cupcakes

Had my mum and her partner as well as my sister and her partner over this weekend. As it was Mother's day I made a special effort and cooked up some cupcakes (my first time) I didn't have a piping bag so twirled round the butter cream icing with a fork. I'm pleased with the results and can confirm that they tasted lovely - although I have to keep eating them just to make sure!! Had a lovely weekend with my mum and sis - its hard work entertaining but worth it as I really enjoy spending time with my family - we all live so far apart that we don't get to meet up very often.

I've won on the Craftwork Cards Blog Challenge: Ovals

I'm so very excited today, I've just found out that I won last weeks Craftwork Cards Blog Challenge: Ovals with this card. I absolutely love Craftwork Cards and use a lot of their products on my cards, so I'm pleased as punch to win some goodies from them. Here is a link to their blog with details of their next challenge:..... http://craftworkcards.blogspot.com/

Using up scraps

I've seen this idea somewhere, can't remember exactly but its a really good way to use up scraps of paper - and you know us crafters we don't like waste - thinking about it I could probably make up loads of cards with the amount of scrap paper I've got in my craft room!

Digital Tuesday Challenge No 48: Scallops

Thought I would enter this into the Digital Tuesday Scallops Challenge. The digital image is from Pink Petticoat. I've been brave because orange and brown are not colours I would usually use. So here goes........

Is it possible to love a dog this much!

I just simply adore Tilly and I love to take photos of her. She had recently been groomed when these photos were taken.

Black, White, Grey, Buttons, Flowers and Bows

I've sold some of my cards recently and with the money I went along to my craft shop for a spend up! I bought some of the Papermania Capsule Collection buttons, flowers and bows (and in all the colours!!!) but decided yesterday to "challenge" myself to use the black, grey and white sets, along with some card blanks that I've had in my stash for quite a while now......... I kept the designs very simple - and I'm liking the results - for a quick card these are great!

Mother's day card - don't look mum!!!!

If you are looking mum - look away now!!!!
A close up datail

Here is a card I've made for my mum for mother's day. It is also my first attempt at an easel card too. I'm pretty pleased with the result. Would love to hear your comments too.

I thought I was over the kraft paper....

Well I thought I was over my kraft paper phase... until I realised I've got some lovely kraft papers from Craftwork Cards (another absolute favourite of mine) so I got cracking and made these two cards. Would love to hear your comments.
