Less is More Week 8 Sketch

Good morning, well I managed to make a card yesterday to enter into the Less is More week 8 sketch challenge - but by the time I had finished it was too dark to photograph so waited until this morning - not that it is much better its grey and gloomy here!  "Why aren't you using your new portable light thingy" you might be thinking - well yes I should but I didn't have time this morning!  I'm in the middle of changing around my craft room and a new desk is on its way (hopefully today actually!) and then I can get my sewing machine, cricut machine and portable photo thingy all put out on the desk ready for action without having to run downstairs to use the dining room table.  Once I've got it organised I'm sure some photos will be proudly displayed on my blog!!!!  Anyway back to the challenge.......

Here is the sketch:-

and here is my card:-
and the detail in close up:-

The stamps I've used to make this card are as follows:-

Artemio - Swirly oval frame
Personal Impressions - Sentiment
Craftwork Cards - Chandelier
Autumn Leaves: Rhonna Farrer - flourishes
Black lace ribbon from stash
Crystals: Hero Arts

Have a good day everyone and...

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge # 60 - Spring has Sprung

Good morning all you lovely bloggers!  Hope you all had a good weekend - I know I did!  Went to visit my sister and had a really great weekend.

Anyway back to Monday and its Kaboodle Doodle challenge time again.  This week we are sponsored by The Crafty Pad. The lucky winner will receive 2 images from The Crafty Pad.

The DT were given a selection of images to choose from and this is what I came up with:-

The papers are from My Mind's Eye "Pretty Please" they were a freebie with a magazine a while back.  I coloured the image with promarkers and highlighted the raindrops and puddle with Glossy Accents.

If you have the time would love to see you over at Kaboodle Doodles.

Catch up with you all later in the week.

Just stitching around

Hi everyone who is taking the time to read my blog today - so glad that you do....

Well you might remember from last week that I purchased a shiney new sewing machine, well I've been having a play and thought I would share this card I made for my sister's birthday (which was yesterday) so couldn't show it before today in case she was catching up on my blog - LOL!

I made my shabby flower from white tissue paper and decided I would cut leaf shapes out too and attached them to my card with my sewing machine - I so chuffed that it came out all right!!

The sentiment I created in Word and printed onto the kraft paper and then die cut the shape I wanted which luckily matches the shape of the card I then matted this on to a larger white shape which I had embossed.

I stretched the zigzag stitch around the outside edge of the kraft paper and added some flowers to the bottom corner to hide the (not so neat join!).  And of course one of my cards wouldn't be fully complete without a bit of sparkle courtesy of these lovely swarovski crystals - although in the photo below they look positively dull (should have used my flash maybe)!!!!!

Anyway that is it!  I'm enjoying using my sewing machine and once I get my craft room sorted out the machine will be upstairs with me rather than on the dining room table downstairs!

Thought that I would enter this card into the following challenges (and this is a lot for me!!!) :-

http://theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/ - Bingo: Die Cuts, Flowers & Gems
http://forfunchallenges.blogspot.com/ - Flowers and sentiment
http://anythingchallenge.blogspot.com/ - Make your own embellishment (tissue paper flower & leaves)

Hope you all have a fabby weekend... and, as always....

Daring Cardmakers - Going Postal

Afternoon everyone!

Hope you are all having a great Saturday and enjoying the lovely weather (well its been a beautiful day here in Essex).  I've been really busy on the crafting front the last couple of days - had quite a few orders to fulfil and have finished all but 2 cards - so pretty pleased with myself!

Thought I would enter the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week - haven't entered that one for a while....  So the theme this week is Going Postal so you have to incorporate either a real, stamped or die cut stamp on to your card and here is my entry:-

and a little close up detail

The background for this card I created myself using masks and distress inks.  I also added some gorgeous new trim that I purchased on Thursday - yummy!  The main image is a stamp I borrowed from a friend on one of our crafting days!  The sentiment is computer generated and the "stamp" is from a set made by Artemio.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

WOYWW # 93

Morning everyone!

Thought I would join in with Julia et al over at WOYWW.  Today I'm sooo excited as my new sewing machine has arrived this morning.......bright, sparkly and new woohoo!

It has quite a few stiches it can do (just got to learn what they all are for!)

and I just had to choose a machine with a nice design on it :)

An added bonus of receiving the machine is that a certain little girly had something to play with....

but it started to get a bit messy........

so had to take it away :(

Oh mummy can I have it back please I was having a LOT of fun.... and I'll be super cute!

I don't know maybe later Tilly - don't want to keep getting the hoover out to get all those little white bits of polystyrene out of the carpet!

Hope you all have a great day and hopefully later/tomorrow once I've actually set it up and had a proper play I can show you what I've done.

Kaboodle Doodle Challenge # 58 - Happy Birthday

Good afternoon all

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  I was busy working on a "secret" project but can't give any more away than that at the moment .... ooohhhh!

Right well its Monday and its Kaboodle Doodle Challenge time again.  This week the theme is to make a Birthday card.  Our sponsor is Paper Pretties. The winner will receive their choice of 3 Paper Pretties digital images.

Here is my DT card

and a close up
I loved this little lady in her Kimono and holding her fan - how sweet.

My BP is a design by Kate Knight which was a freebie in Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine last year.  The flower is made using the 9 hearts tutorial see my blog post here.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the scallop circle I believe is a Marianne die but I bought it pre-cut from a craft shop.  The gorgeous black lace is from The Ribbon Box which I bought at a craft fair.

Well that's it from me today, hopefully back again tomorrow.

Play Date Cafe # 71 - Colour Splash and a photo using my new "box" thingy!

This doesn't happen very often - this is my second posting of the day! - if you haven't seen my earlier post, and you want a chance to win £100 worth of stash then look at my post below for details.....

Anyway back to this posting and thought I would get in just before closing time on The Play Date Cafe challenge this week!

Its colour splash time and here is their photo how vibrant are those colours - gorgeous!  They have left it up to us to select which "splash" of colour we want to use.

One of my fav colours is turquoise and I knew I had some gorgeous velvet ribbon in that colour and so that was my starting point for this card.  I then remembered buying some gorgeous Artemio stamps when I was at a craft show a few weeks back.  They were very reasonably priced.

Anyway I've used one on my card below.  I've taken two photos to try out my new Portable photo box thingy:-

Taken using photo box

and one how I usually take my photos on the windowsill!

So can you notice the difference - I know it is only slight but I think I do get a better photo using the box.  I like the "uncluttered background" and also think my photo is clearer.  I still need to practice a bit more and hopefully as some folks sing ....things can only get better........ LOL

Happy crafting!

Kaboodle Doodle Challenge # 57 - Go Green

Good afternoon all

Bit late today with this post but here it is anyway!  Its Monday and the next challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles.  This week's challenge is to use the colour green on your card be it paper, ink, ribbon as long as its green.  The challenge this week is being sponsored by Cardmadfairys-creations.

Here is my DT card for this week I just loved this super cute image!:-

and a little closer

I don't have "fringe" scissors so you can image that took a little patience to cut all those bits - which hopefully will be reminding you of grass!!! - LOL!  My bp's I picked up at a craft shop sale and I dont know who they are made by so that is not very helpful eh.

Anyway thanks for stopping by and....

WOYWW - 91

Good afternoon blog buddies!

Well my workspace today is primarily know as the "dining table"!!  I was lucky enough yesterday to receive my Amazon order... its a portable photo studio kit.  I heard about it from the lovely Jules.  I've yet to try it out properly with the lights on but you can see the sunshine making it almost glow white on the right had side! I just need to sort out its permanent home - and as my craft room shrinks down by the day with all the bits I keep buying (lol) a final home for it has yet to be decided.  Now I'm hoping that my photos will start to look a bit better and clearer - but don't hold your breath!

Do any of you use these??

Thanks for stopping by today.
