Less is More Week 76 - One Layer Week

Hi everyone rushing in late again, this is getting into a habit!  Mind you I have a busy week, with crafting friends coming over on Wednesday for the day - what a great time we all had and in fact that is when I made my entry for this weeks Less is More challenge!

So the challenge this week is
Everyone's favourite... the
One Layer Challenge

and this week it's really simple

Three of anything that is, three colours, three images, three stamps, three words, the number three.... it's up to you, but don't forget the white space, a simple design and just one layer!
And here is my little card:-

I borrowed this lovely stamp from my crafting friend Beryl - thanks Beryl. Its so cute!
Its by Little Claire - the text is from another stamp set by Papermania.
I coloured the image with shimmer chalks and Glamour Dust.
Some close ups of the sparkle!!

Thats it for me today I'm off to have a play with my crafting "stock" LOL!  See you all tomorrow for the next LIM challenge.

Altered Dress Form

Hi everyone - hope that you all had a great weekend... I had a little play in my craft room over the weekend,  I was inspired to get creative with my Craftwork Cards Pretty in Pink Vintage Blooms kit.  My Craftwork Cards teamie Karen has created some stunning projects and I mean stunning - with this month's kit.... pop over here and take a look!  (If you are a Privilege Club member you get the kit for just £10 - yep £10 for all that!)

JUST TO WARN YOU NOW - THIS IS A PICTURE HEAVY POST - A TON AT LEAST!!

So I started to make up some of the flowers in the kit and thought also about how I wanted to use the gorgeous papers that come in the kit.

I hit on an idea to alter a dress form that I've had for a couple of months just sitting on my shelf all naked and bare........

So lets start with the paper... roll strips around a pencil....

 stick two together....

now add some vintage lace to the bottom... of the dress form

now start adding the rolled up paper around the dress form to make the skirt!

now for the top and waist I added some pretty ribbon to hide the top of the skirt.  I then used more ribbon and vintage lace to make a little top!

and now for one of the flowers from the kit... can you see I've also attached some oh so cute "tape measure" ribbon that I had in my stash - I thought it added a nice touch!

Now it wouldn't be something I've made without the added "sparkle" would it?!!

and here is the back with a pretty bow...
 and a scrunched flower
Some more views...

Can you tell I was having fun with my camera!!!
And finally back on the shelf - but this time looking all pretty!! (mind you look at the contrast in colour from the previous photo as its not by the window....)

I really hope that you like this post as much as I did altering this dress form!  Sorry for all the photos  (don't know about you but I love looking at and taking photos - ha ha!!)

Thought I might enter my dress form into this challenge:-

Right I'll leave you now off to make a cup of  tea .... until next time...

Less is More Week 75 - Colour

Good morning all, hope you are having a nice weekend and are not too soggy and waterlogged.  Thoughts are with all of those who have been flooded.

I was late last week in entering the Less is More challenge only posting up on Friday!  So have got my crafty finger out this morning and am joining in the fun early for a change!!!  This week's challenge is:-

It's amazing that we've managed to come up with different shades for each of our colour challenges without resorting to bizarre combinations and here is yet another simple choice... it's

'Gold'
It can be shiny or matt, but we'd like it to be unmistakably gold!

WOW Embossing Powder
In July we are fortunate to have WOW Embossing Powders as our sponsor once more. The prize is a fabulous caddy of 12 powders. This time WOW have also offered a special offer of purchasing the caddy at half price when buying 12 powders.
Any of their range of gold powders would be perfect for this challenge!!!

So here is my card

The background stamp is by WOW: Vintage Wallpaper and I used WOW Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder
I just love this button, at first I wasn't sure about the black bit in the middle but decided I like it!!

My sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

Hopefully you can see clearly that its definitely gold!!! LOL

I'll be behind Andy Murray this afternoon at Wimbledon - although I do also like Roger Federer.  We should be on for a great match.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you are doing.

Until next time...

Less is More week 74

Hello hope you are well and not flooded out.....  Finally the sun has come out here this pm - its been grey and raining for most of the day - what a lovely summer!!!

Anyway just running in again with my entry for this week's Less is More challenge, this week is:-

For our challenge we have decided to take our

"Less is More"

header as the inspiration for this challenge.

We love to see how many different ways this could be interpreted.

You could simply do a CASE of it or use any of the elements as your theme... a decorated frame, the music, the flourishes, the flowers, the sentiment, the colours, the little jewels, there's really quite a lot of scope to let your imagination roam.

If your link is somewhat tenuous however, we would like you to explain just what your inspiration was.
Well when I saw this earlier in the week I so wanted to join in and decided to CASE the card completely!!  So here is my card

It took quite a few attempts to get the card done as I kept getting smudges on the card as some of the background stamps I was only using a small proportion of them - anyway I'm very pleased with the outcome and am sooo gonna use this "background" stamping on other cards - this challenge really did make me do something I've not really done before - I guess that is why we all love a challenge!!

So hats off to our Chrissie and Mandi for yet another great challenge with fantastic inspiration.  Must also mention the GD this week too Kim - what a fabby card she has made too.

Hope that you all have some nice plans for the weekend.  Catch up with you all soon.

Happy Crafting

Pretty Little Prints Project of the Month Kit...

Good morning, just wanted to share with you some of the cards I've made using this month's Pretty Little Prints Project of the Month Kit from Craftwork Cards.

I love making easel cards!  I'm just loving the Embossed Nesting Frames that come with the kit so versatile.  I've also put the Candi to good use as the "stopper" I also couldn't help also adding some crystals - you know me can't help myself - LOL!
I love the simplicity of this card with the embossed frame some flowers and a butterfly.  If you had to make a quick card this would be a good choice.
I love the different leaf stems that come in the Build a Bloom Stamp set.

So that is my little share for today, hope that you enjoyed it!  I will be back later in the week to share a few more... Until then
