Creative Inspirations Challenge # 65 - Summertime

Hi everyone hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far the weather has been lovely in my part of the world so have been working in the garden, walking the dog, meeting friends for lunch - you know the usual weekend things and its been lovely seeing a bit of sunshine too!
Well its challenge time again over at Creative Inspirations and this time the challenge is summertime. This week we are sponsored by little claires designs and they have donated a wonderful stamp for the winner.  So what are you waiting for...... can't wait to see all your lovely entries.

Here is my DT card for inspiration and you will notice I've learnt a new trick in Photoshop of how to feather the edges (well I got it from a tutorial here by the lovely Tamara  thanks Tamara!)  I just love the softened look using this new (well new for me anyway) technique!
and a close up of the sentiment

and a close up for the texture (love seam binding don't you!)
These gorgeous papers are from Pink Petticoat and were a freebie with a magazine I love PP anyway and these pre-printed sheets are toally gorgeous!

Right I'm off to carry on my trip around blogland... until next time...

Happy Crafting..

Less is More Week 25 Recipe

Hi LIMettes

Well another week upon us (is it me or is life just whizzing by....) good thing though we get another great challenge over at Less is More!  Chrissie and Mandi have yet again given us some fantastic inspiration and yet again its only the start of the week and there are over 150 entries!  This week is recipe week and they would like us to use Buttons or Ribbon.  I've decided to use both!

So here is my little entry for this week:-

I decided to make a button flower.  I did have a button in the centre of the flower but I thought this little felt mini rose I made just softened the look of the flower slightly and I just preferred it!

and you know me I couldn't help but add a bit of sparkle to the stem!
I then finished it off with some lovely silk ribbon at the side tied in a knot

So thats my entry off to look at some of the others entries and leave some comments!...

I also going to enter my card into these challenges:-
come and get it challenges - Make your own flowers (Sun)
lollipop crafts - July challenge - Anything Goes (31st July)
crazy challenge - 77 Ribbons

Until next time

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge # 77 - Stitching Faux or Real

Hi all

Hope you all had a great weekend - we did we had friends over on Friday night through to yesterday evening and more friends came around yesterday for a BBQ and thankfully the weather was gorgeous so we could all sit outside (mind you the wasps flying around had other ideas about our day and tried to get us stressed out by keep flying around gggrrrrrrr).  The food all turned out great and a couple of my friends had made desserts which were yummy and we all had a great time sitting in the sunshine (has Summer finally arrived then......)

So today I'm quite tired from the entertaining but its always worth it in my book!!!  So my blogging "work" (ha ha) must continue and as its Monday you know what that means...... yep its Kaboodle Doodles challenge time again. This week the challenge is to use stitching on your card be it faux or real.  We have been sponsored this week by The Crafty Pad

I decided I was going to do faux stitching on mine (I know I've got that lovely new, bright and shiney sewing machine sitting on my craft desk) but the thought of trying to stitch the heart shape...... well lets just say the pen option was more appealing! So Here is my card:-

Recipe
Card blank: Craftwork Cards
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Congrats ticket: The Crafty Pad

So grab your sewing machine (or pen) and get stitching and show us what you make!!

Take care and .....

The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge # 10

Hi everyone well its Friday teatime so hope you are all in a good mood because the weekend is here!!!

Well I was looking around challenge blogs the other day and decided that I wanted to enter this one

I love the colour aqua and those ladies over at Ribbon Girls Blog have some wonderful creations to inspire you.  So I've been working on this card and I gotta say I'm really pleased with how it has come out (even if I say so myself) - seriously you know when you get that nice happy feeling when you look at your completed project.........

The butterfly in the photo below I made myself - I've some new crafty purchases silicone molds and some Hearty air dry clay - they are super easy to make - quick to dry and VERY lightweight!  I'm going to be scouring the internet for more molds..........  I lightly coloured it with shimmer chalks and then lightly distressed the edges with old paper distress ink.

I thought that I would also enter into these challenges with my little creation too:-

Craft us crazy - Challenge 13 - Anything goes (bi-weekly Thurs)
southern girls challenge - Challenge 23 - Happy Birthday (Thurs)
crafts and me challenges - Challenge 44 - Add a flower (Wed)
flutterby wednesdays  - Challenge 163 - Open (but must use butterfly, fairy or angel) (Wed)

Right I'm off to put the tea on and have a glass of wine - catch up with you all over the weekend (fingers crossed for nice weather as I'm doing a BBQ on Sunday!!!)

Kaboodle Doodles # 76 - Embossing

Hi blog buds hope you all had a great weekend - albeit a wash out!!!!  Don't you just love the English summer!!!!!

Well its Monday again and that means Kaboodle Doodles challenge time.  This week the theme is Embossing and our sponsor is The Paper Shelter - do check out there website for some fab images!

and here is my DT card:-

For the embossing I had a card in my stash that I have had for a while which I have embossed using a stencil which I had borrowed from a crafty friend.  I had to use lots of shims!!!  The stencil fitted the size card perfectly I thought, and my cute bear I resized to fit within the inner circle!  I have dusted over the embossed pattern with some shimmer chalks but not sure you can see that straightaway...

I think you will agree a typical "Tina style" card, clean, fresh, simple and an added bit of sparkle!!!! LOL

Thought I would enter my card into the following challenges too:-

http://kbchallenges.blogspot.com/ - Challenge 22 (Mon) - Digital stamp (my image is digital)
http://ppp-makeitmonday.blogspot.com/ - # 46 (Mon) - Anything goes
http://simonsaysstampandshow.blogspot.com/ - Embossing

Enjoy your week and..

Creative Inspirations - I'm a new DT member!!

Here is my first DT card - it took me a while to think up what design to do for Xmas - its funny when I'm in Xmas mode come Oct/Nov I can think of loads of designs to do but there was a lot of head scratching with this one!!  But I got there in the end when I decided on this stamp set and an easel card design:

Recipe
Card blank: Craftwork Cards
Stamped image: Hero Arts and Winter Night Sky Tapestry stamps
Ink: Perfect Medium
Embossing Powder: Heat it Up! Enchanted Gold
Sentiment: Craftwork Cards
Ribbon and charm from stash
Snowflake punches: Xcut and Woodware

Hope that you like it and that you might be able to pop over a join in our challenge it would be lovely to see you.  My teamies have come up with some fabulous creations this week so do pop over to Creative Inspirations and have a look.  Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and catch up next week.

Less is More Week 24 - Theme - Circles

Good morning all you LIMettes out there - I'm so early for this challenge this week I can't quite believe it myself.  But you know when everything just "comes together" - such a lovely feeling.  So the theme this week over at Less is More is circles and not just one circle to qualify its got to be part of the design of the card (you don't want Chrissie or Mandi telling you off (in the nicest possible way you understand....) if you don't comply!!!)

So here is my contribution for this week:-

I started off with the Cuttlebug circles embossing folder - I then decided to cut round the circles on one edge to try and emphasise them a bit more....
The sentiment circle stamp is from My Sentiments Exactly which I stamped and then die cut into a scallop circle.  I then put a brad (eagle eyed among you will spot its a sparkly one - he he) in the middle as I wanted the sentiment to be able to be moved in a circle too....
.... just to prove this point the above circle starts with Friendship and then a turned it round and took another photo (below) for a different part of the sentiment - just to prove my point!!!!
So do I get extra points for not only having circles in the design but also that an element of my design you can turn in a circle!!!! LOL (I'm kidding honestly!)

Oh and I restrained myself from adding any more colour, sparkles etc to this card to keep it in the CAS style.

Well enjoy the rest of your weekend LIMettes and catch up with you all soon.

Less is More - Week 23 One Layer

Hi LIMettes!

This LIM challenge blog is soooo addictive!  I've been thinking all weekend whilst doing other chores what I could make to fit this challenge as one layers are hard!!  Its so tempting to "add" something to the design like ribbons, sparkles...... but I guess that is the name of the game - or in this case challenge! LOL

So this week Mandi and Chrissie want to see "something with legs"..... here is my card:-

Now I'm no artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I did want the colouring of this image to have a "sketchy" look do you know what I mean?  Anyway ........ here is a close up
Recipe
Card blank: Craftwork Cards
Stamp: Flippin' Stamps by Lapashe
Pens: Promarkers
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black

I'd also like to enter my card into these challenges:-
http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.com/ - #50 One Layer Card (Mon)
http://lollipopcrafts.blogspot.com/ - Summer Special Challenge - Anything goes (until 31st July)

Right so thats my effort for this week!  Off I pop to pay some of you a visit and leave a bit of blogging love!

Until next time...

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge # 75 - Use those Scissors!

Afternoon crafters, its Monday again and time to share the next challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles and also to welcome to the team 4 new DT members - yes 4 and here they are:-

Bettina
Jennifer
Kath
Sue

Thanks so much to everyone who played along in our CELEBRATIONS challenge last week. Your entries were amazing! Be sure to stop back tomorrow over at Kaboodles and see who our winner is and who has been chosen to be in our Top 3!  This week we are sponsored by Stamp Fairy

The challenge this week is to use those scissors!  You can do any kind of cutting you'd like - fussy cutting of image, cutting of papers, just make sure we can see SOME evidence that you have cut something out with scissors or craft knife.

So this is what I've come up with this week:-

As you can see I've coloured both my images with Promarkers.  I printed each image twice so that I could cut it out and decoupage it up a little on sticky foam pads.

So come on crafters get out those scissors, get cutting, and show us your wonderful creations!  We would love it if you come and visit us and join in our challenge!

Until next time....

Less is More Week 22 - Colour

Good morning hope you are all having a lovely day so far.... I'm joining in the Less is More challenge again.  This week the challenge is colour.   You can use a white card base, but they do want to see more than one colour of blue, not just one!  I struggled this week, not with the colour I love blue -  but just deciding on what to create! (We all get those days don't we!!)

SHADES of BLUE
so here is my card:-

Recipe
Card blank: Craftwork Cards
Sentiment: Cricut Paper Lace
Stamp: Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer: Swirls v.2
Ink: Memento: Paris Dusk

I masked off the centre panel before I stamped the swirls so that hopefully there is enough white space still left on the card - but I'm sure Chrissy and Mandi will let me know!!!

As always there are LOADS of entries for this challenge and some fabby creations and I'm looking forward to visiting some of you later and leaving you comments but until then...
