Less is More Week 38

Good morning all your LIMettes well its another great challenge over at Less is More this week by the lovely Chrissie and Mandi and the theme is:-

"This week we have a really easy recipe which is simply
POLKA DOTS
As long as your design is Clean and Simple, has some white space (or its equivalent) and polka dots in evidence somewhere, it will be perfect for this challenge"

Both Chrissie and Mandi have once again inspired us all with some wonderful creations of there own, and by looking at the entries so far, it has sparked so much inspiration from all you LIMettes - me included!!!  Well so on to my card - I awoke really early yesterday morning and this is when my card idea "popped" into my head (love it when that happens) and I'm so pleased with how it has come out - exactly like my "mind's eye" if you know what I mean!!

So here it is:-
The gorgeous digi image is from Pink Petticoat (love, love, love!) I made a slit in the card to feed through my paper to make it look like it was on the sewing machine!
I created my own wording in Word using the technique that I picked up from Mandi and Chrissie!  Can you see I made "dotty" in outline so that I could add my "dots" to add to the polka dot effect of the card!
My card blank is from Craftwork Cards and I chose it for this make because it has this lovely pretty dotty bottom edge!

So thats me done.  I will be over to leave some comments on some of your gorgeous creations and so until then...

Happy Crafting

Less is More Week 37

Dear LIMettes

I'm running in at the last minute waving my card to enter this weeks great challenge at Less is More
Another week and another challenge, the theme for which is
COCKTAIL
You may interpret this however you wish... your favourite tipple, the colours of a cocktail or a simply cocktail of colours. Let your imagination run with this one, it will be interesting to see how imaginative you can be.

So this is me:-

You Are Made Of Tolerance, Pizzazz, and Sass

3 parts Tolerance
2 parts Pizzazz
1 part Sass

And a Splash of Bravery

Sip slowly on the beach

So on to my card then....

So for a change I put my card blank through the printer to generate my sentiment which I'm so pleased with although it did take a little while with plain paper to get it to line up where I wanted it (even though I created my new Word document to the size proporations of my card blank) - any clever computer bods know why it was originally printing right off the right hand side although in print preview it was OK????  If you can enlighten me great - if not don't worry at least I achieved what I wanted to eh!!!

For my "Cocktail" dress I had a plastic template for ages from Craftwork Cards that I used to draw around and you can't see it in the photo but I used so velvet paper that I had so really touchy feely!  I then rememberd that I had those oh so cute little hangers.  Might have to make some more in this design "Five Dollar Shake" eat your heart out!!!!!!!!!!!!! (he he)

Anyway I'm hoping to be popping by some of you to leave some comments - albeit a bit late this week...

Take care everyone and

Happy Crafting

Less is More - Week 36

Hi LIMettes!

It seems such a long time ago since I joined you all - life just sometimes gets in the way doesn't it!  I've missed you all!!  I do love the LIM challenges and this week its one layer week and the lovely Chrissie and Mandi have given us a theme of hearts.

The can be singular, multiple, any colour, but, MUST be a one layer card, with no aditional layers stuck on, apart from the odd embellishment or ribbon!
and here is my little offering for the challenge!

To start off with I drew around a heart paper doily that I had with little dashed lines.  I then played around with different stamps to stamp into the middle of the heart and settled on this little beauty!  Its a Penny Black Slapstick stamp that I picked up in a sale at a craft show recently for the bargain price of £2.50 - yep £2.50 for a PB stamp it also includes the lovely scroll wording too - now that is a great bargain I think you will agree.

I wanted to keep the look light ad elegant and so opted to just colour in parts of the image with pink shimmer chalks. I couldn't help myself but add some gorgeous glamour dust for that sparkle!

Right I shall be coming over to see some of you - until then...
