Card in a box!

I've had this card in my stash for a while as I made it for a challenge a while back and I've wanted to send it to someone, but it obviously needed something more than an envelope. So because I had to get my Crafters Companion out of the cupboard (for the very first time!) to make an element for my frame (on the sneak peak post below- another clue!) I thought I would make a box for this card - and can I say making boxes is a breeze with the Crafters Companion! I think I've found my new fave thing to do!!!
I decorated the top of the box too.

Now the eagle eyed among you will have noticed the paperclips - they are not an element of my design but merely put in place to hold the card together whilst its in the box to stop it from springing open!!! (he he).  I dropped it round to my friends the other day, for her birthday today.

Hope you have a lovely weekend - enjoy this gorgeous weather (even if it is too hot)!

In the Pink

A sideways view

Thought I would enter this card into these challenges:-

Kaboodledoodles challenge 31 make monochromatic card

thecraftypad challenge 72 Over The Edge

Get me - first time entering one card into two challenges! But I must also mention my friend Shirl over at cottonberrycreations who nagged me (in a very nice way LOL) to enter the challenges!

That Embossed Tree again...

I've had another play with that lovely tree embossing folder. This time I added some lovely pink birds (these are from Paperchase - bought them at the same time as the owls....). I decided to go for brown as I think it goes really lovely with the pink birds. I created the sentiment in Word.
