Hi Ladies
Can't believe another 2 weeks has whizzed by and here we are again on Monday with the next challenge at Kaboodle Doodles. This week the challenge is "Make it Vintage". The DT were given images by this week's sponsor: stamp-n-doodle. I hope that you will be able to play along. Here is my DT card:-
I printed "The Courier" image onto some brown kraft paper and to make it look more vintage I crumpled it up, distressed the edges with my craft knife and distress inks, ripped into it and then stapled it back together. I then added some gorgeous black lace and stictching. The flower was made from the scrap of paper that I had left over which I gave the same treatment too before I added the metal flower charm and the birthday sentiment. Oh I then added pearls at the end to finish it off! I wasn't sure if I had taken the "vintage" look too far - but I'm pleased with how it turned out and something completely different to my "usual" style!
Thought I would also enter this card at simon says stamp and show their theme is "Something Shabby"

Yesterday
Just had to make a mention to my two lovely crafty friends Shirley and Viv who both made me gorgeous birthday cards - very much appreciated and I loved both your designs.
Had a lovely day yesterday out at Papercraft show in Bury st Edmunds - what at way to spend your birthday had a great time spending away...... Started to get cold like symptoms in the car as I drove home and by the time I got home I was feeling pretty rubbish so I just sat in front of TV for rest of afternoon and early evening had my dinner and was in bed at 8.30pm! I'm taking it easy today - think this cold will be with me for the week boo hoo.
Still at least I've got my crafty goodies that I bought yesterday to play with and tomorrow I will let you know what hubby got me for my birthday....

and close up detail:-
I've dusted off this wonderful tree embossing folder which I haven't used for ages and coloured the leaves with my "Autumn" set of promarkers.
I've seen this embossing folder also used with an Xmas theme so watch this space as I no doubt will try it too!
Happy Autumn!

Hi everyone trust you are all well. Sorry not posted for a while but I've got a really good excuse! I've been away on hols in Spain for a week (yes very lucky me!) Here is a card I've made as a thank you to my sister-in-law and her hubby to thank them so very much for their hospitality and generosity in letting us stay at their villa with them. (I'll post some pics of that soon).
I followed this weeks challenge at Kaboodle Doodles #40 which is a sketch challenge so I'm entering it for that too!
Until my next posting enjoy the rest of your day!

Kaboodle Doodle Challenge #39
Hi all hope you all had a good weekend - I know I did!!! I've been on a health kick lately to lose a few pounds and at the weekend I lost another 1lb which now means in total I've lost 1 Stone!! Still a way to go but as long as its in the right direction I don't mind!
Anyway this week over at Kaboodle Doodle challenge they have this photo as the inspiration for their challenge.

Catch up with you all soon.

This is my card
I'm normally a fan of ralatively quick to make cards, but this one believe it or not took a while and its because I decided to make some of my own patchwork paper. I took 6 different papers from a My Mind's Eye collection that I have, and punched out enough 1" squares to cover a blank piece of paper. I then die cut the shape I wanted out of this patchwork paper. I wanted extra texture so I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a dotty embossing folder. I then ran the front of the card through the Cuttlebug with the same embossing folder. I took another sheet of paper from the same collection and layered this on to the card front leaving a border. I rounded the corners and then faux stitched all the way round it. Lastly I punched 3 butterflies from the same paper collection and mounted them together and added some pearls to give extra dimension. Finally I added the "Thinking of you" die cut sentiment to finish it off.
A close up of the finer details

Still loving this butterfly punch from Tonic!
Catch up with you all soon.
