Some photos of my holiday to Spain

Thought I would share with you just a few photos from my holiday last week to Spain....  We were lucky enough to be invited by my hubby's sister to join her and her husband who own a villa out there..... which is about an hours drive north of Alicante.

Ok this is me try to be "arty" I only took my little camera but the photos came out not too bad - so this is the swimming pool (you don't say!!)  I took this photo because when I was lazing around on the sunbed I thought the pink of the bougainvillea flowers would look lovely against the blue of the pool!!!
For the next photo well I just LOVE the way the sun "sparkles" on the sea - in fact I find it quite mesmorising!
This was our view every morning and evening sitting on the terrace - not bad eh!
This is my little lizard friend who came out to see me everyday!!!  But when I got my camera out he got shy and started to run away!

Now on Thursday last week it was my Dad's birthday and when I called in the morning to wish him happy birthday I said that we were out that night to a really "posh" restaurant and that I would raise my glass and say happy birthday - and here I am!

This is a view from a restaurant we went to for our "last" lunch - again another stunning view and I loved the funky white garden furniture.

and here was my starter... a delish lobster and mango salad...

So before I bore you all I'll stop there!

It looks like we are in for a lovely weekend on the weather front and I'm extra happy as not only am I going to Ally Pally to do some crafty shopping, but I've also got family coming to stay - perfect!

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge # 85 Layers

Hi blogging friends
I've been a bit quite over the last week haven't I well I have a good excuse - I was away sunning myself in the very beautiful and very hot and sunny Spain (I'm so luck aren't I!!!)  I'm feeling relaxed and refreshed and ready to craft!!!  So apologies for my not commenting on your lovely blogs over the last week, I promise to make up for it this week and I'm looking forward to popping over to see you all and leaving some bloggy luv....

Well another Monday and another  Kaboodle Doodles challenge time and this week we want to see your layers.  We are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique

and here is my card:-

The background paper is from Pink Petticoat and the sentiment is Craftwork Cards
I layered up my image by decoupaging the scraf, mittens, carrot and hat on the washing line and the pipe on the ground!
I've got a theme going on at the moment with my Kaboodle cards did anyone notice that just recently they have all been Xmas themed!!!  One way to get ahead with the Xmas card makes me thinks!!!

Hope that you all have a great week and catch up with you very soon.

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge # 84 Chipboard

Hi blogging friends its Monday and so its time for the next challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles.  This week the challenge is to use chipboard on your project.  We are sponsored this week by Simply Betty Stamps:-

and here is my card:-

The chipboard swirl is from Maya Road and I've used gold stickles glitter glue to colour it.
The sentiment and tree are both from Craftwork Cards

I think black makes for a striking card.  I don't normally go for gold, but I liked it against the black - what do you think?  Hopefully might see some of you over at Kaboodles for this challenge....

Until then

A sketch and a colour challenge (and who said peel-offs were boring!!)

Hi dear blogging friends!  Well today I needed to make a card for my friend's daughter who will be 18th at the end of the week.  So I decided that I would look up a sketch and found this lovely one at hippity with ippity (GHWI challenge no 5)

and when I saw this sketch it reminded me that The play date cafe have a colour splash challenge (PDCC97) black, white and a touch of red....

So I've crafted away and this is my card - do you like the peel offs......

(What peel offs I hear you say - oh all right then the peel offs are the sparkly border around the edge of the card (I had realised once I'd stuck the ribbon on that I had not matted the panel onto a black layer as in the sketch and this was my way around that problem...... does this mean I will start using peel offs again???? who knows???? I shall keep them stashed away in the cupboard just in case....!)

So do I feel super duper organised........... still that will not last long I can assure you!!!  Right off to have a cup of tea so catch up with you all later.

I choose to use ric rac on my card and its the "stopper" for my easel card
Now credit where credit is due my lovely crafting and blogging friend Shirley suggested the cotton snowballs!  I thought it a fantastic idea and below is a little close up of them - don't they just add something to the card so thanks so very much again Shirley!

Thought I would enter these challenges with this card too:-
