Creative Inspirations # 67 - The Final Challenge.....

Hi everyone
Well some sad news this will be the last challenge over at Creative Inspirations :o(.....

We are hoping to go out with a bang and have a great challenge for you all...  Its a recipe challenge and you can choose either:-
  1. Distress, Buttons & Bows
  2. Shabby Chic, Pearls & Lace
  3. Vintage, Ribbon & Flowers
My Teamies have come up with some fabulous creations so do check out the blog and have a look... here.

I've gone for No. 3 and here is my card:-

I got this gorgeous vintage frame below from http://www.freeprettythingsforyou.com/ absolutely free!  How gorgeous is it (I've added a stamped sentiment to mine)

I have a die to cut my spirals to make the flowers but I hand cut the leaves and just scored along the middle to create the vein and so that I could fold them up slightly...
Erm..... Tilly wanted to be in the picture too - couldn't resist putting this photo in!!
So that is it for me for today and I'm saying a very sad farewell to all my teamies on the Creative Inspirations DT - I've enjoyed our short but sweet time together....  Please come and join us in our last challenge the winner will receive £10 to spend at Joanna Sheene.

Happy Crafting...

Less is More Week 29 - Theme - Things that Move

Hi LIMettes

I'm a bit late this week with my posting meant to do it earlier but had a busy week so hey ho!!!!

This week the wonderful Chrissie and Mandi have a  'Theme' and they would like to see

Things that Move
This could be interpreted in a variety of ways...an actual moving component on your card, so a pop up, a shaker, a spinner, a charm, a tag... we could go on...
On the other hand your card could have an image of something capable of movement, so the scope for that is almost infinitesimal!

So here is my card:-

OK so I've opted for the easy option out of the theme choices with the walking Poodle.  I love how his nose is up in the air!
Apologies for the bad photo quality just couldn't get the right light today....

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend and catch up with you later....

Hi WOYWWers!

I running in late today with my WOYWW - had chores this morning and then met a friend for lunch (well thats my excuse anyway!)  So thought I would join in the fun again over at Julia's place aka WOYWW!  So for all your peeps here is what on mine today:-

So starting at bottom left are a a pile of xmas cards that I made a start on yesterday for a Craft Fayre that I'm attending in November I've inked and coloured the images I've just got to add the "sparkle" - OBVIOUSLY!!!!  Next in the middle of my desk is the finished item (that you may remember being on my desk in the "draft" stage last week more on that in a mo....  Behind that is a plastic wallet with concertina folded paper all ready to make those lovely flowers (as I borrowed the die from someone at a craft club last week) and lastly another half finished card that I started at a craft club last week (me and my half finished stuff!!!!!)

So here is another close up photo of my little "book card" that I'm entering into a few challenges listed at the end of this post

and the inside:-

and more close ups:-  this vintage image a friend gave me (as she had one going spare!) and that is what I based my colour scheme on - I think she is lovely!

I had great fun making this book card and will hopefully find the time to make some more cos IRL they do look gorgeous!  You just cannot see in these photos the sparkle - which is such a shame!!!!!

So thought I should put this into a few challenges and here they all are:-

WOYWW and a card made for a few challenges!

Afternoon blogging buddies!

Hope you are all having a nice day, I've been busy this morning walking the dog, gardening, washing blah, blah, blah ..... and now its "me" time to have a look around blogland at all your wonderful creations and to enter a couple of challenges too!

So its Wednesday today and thought I would join in the fun over at WOYWW as I haven't been there for a visit myself in quite some time.........  So what is on my desk today........

Well I was at a craft club I go to last night, and we started a project  (I say started as I didn't get it finished - probably all the crafty chat!!) and its the most beautiful project I've seen for a long time.  Apparently it was featured in the August issue of Craft Stamper Mag so some of you may be familiar of what the finished item should actually look like!!  If not you've gotta use lots of imagination here - LOL

I wasn't joking about the imagination was I!!!   Its a "book card" and take my word for it our tutor Lynne's creations were truly amazing!  Once I've completed mine - I promise to post it up!  Whilst at the class I die cut various Timmietastic flourishes and the tattered flower which I'm planning on incorporating into my book card!  You can just see in this last photo a picture of a "vintage" lady I'm hoping to fit her into my design too as she is so gorgeous!

Right so on to a card now that I've made to enter into a few challenges!  I was lucky enough to win a prize at http://pennyblackatallsorts.blogspot.com/ July challenge last month!  I was sent this gorgeous rubber stamp and so I've inked it up and here is the card I came up with!  I thought it would be "rude not to" add it into their August challenge which has the theme: Free and Easy!

and the other challenges I would like to enter with this card into are:-
http://flutterbywednesdays.blogspot.com/ - Challenge # 167 (Wed)
http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com/ - Anything goes (Tues)
http://tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.com/ - Challenge # 62 - Non stamped sentiment (Tues) (mine is a pre-printed sentiment)

Right thats it for me for postings today, off to have a nosey around your blogs!!  Thanks for popping by my little blog and until next time...

Less is More Week 28 - One Layer

Good morning LIMettes

Hope you are all OK this morning, the rain has just stopped and the sun is trying to come out where I am.....  So its Saturday and its Less is More challenge time again!  This week its one layer week and Chrissie and Mandi would like you to use ink but in a different way to what you have before (thankfully this does include ink pads!)  Well when I saw this challenge this morning first thing (hubby now thinks I'm sad that I was checking the computer at 8am this morning - but I told him that there were also 16 other people looking in too he reckons we are all addicted to LIM - and I said well of course we are!!!!!)

So having read the details of what was needed this week I went into big panic mode - I'm not that creative with inks or ink effects its just not my "bag" really so this was a challenge in the true sense of the word.....

So three attempts later (and because I was not happy with what I was creating I popped out to Tesco to do my food shop for the weekend), I then came back made myself a nice coffee and ate some biscuits and then suddenly another idea popped into my head........... So here is what I came up with...
So what did I do that was different..... well these flowers are a mask.  So I placed the mask on the pearlised cardstock and used dry foam pads with my Worn Lipstick and Bundled Sage distress inks.  Now when I lifted off the mask the flowers were very subtle in colour and I wanted them to be more vibrant and here is where my "doing something different" comes in.... I pressed the Worn Lipstick inkpad on to my acrylic block and then got my waterbrush and picked up the colour and re-coloured all of the flowers.  Below are some close up hope you can see it!  I'm hoping that it gives a very slight watercoloured effect...

As you can also see I couldn't help myself with the crystals - but I do think it finishes off my flowers loverley.......
I used just a simple sentiment and then I was finally (and thankfully!!!!) done.

So looking forward to see what everyone creates this week I'm sure there are going to be some stunning entries - and now i didn't mention earlier but it has to be said Chrissie and Mandi your creations this week are AWESOME!!

Have a great weekend and until next time...

Happy crafting
