Less is More - Week 43 Recipe - A bit of Bling

Hi everyone

Well this weeks challenge over at Less is More is a bit of

Well how could I possibly pass up an opportunity like this.... bling and sparkle are right up my street! woohoo!!  And again there are so many absolutely stunning entries this week, including from our wonderful blog hosts Mandi and Chrissie!

So here is my little entry:-

The swirly tree is a Memory Box die that I don't own myself (yet) but I had a crafting day with my two crafting buddies Shirley and Beryl on Monday and we had a "die cutting day" and this particular die belongs to Beryl (thanks Beryl).  Actually I have got a similar tree to this on my Cricut but sometimes dies are quicker and easier to do aren't they!!  The "Merry Christmas" is a peel off - SHOCK, HORROR and GASP!!!  But actually I think it goes particularly well on this card - what do you think??

I'm so pleased with how this card looks and think it would look equally stunning on black too (which was going to be my first choice but changed my mind!!!)

I would also like to enter my card into these:-

http://ppp-makeitmonday.blogspot.com/ Challenge # 65 Always anything goes

Right thats me done then.  Will be back later to come and leave some comments on my fellow LIMettes blogs.  So until then...

So more about my weekend.... I went to a demo at Birds in the Barn yesterday where the lovely Jo Firth Young was demonstrating some gorgeous PaperArtsy Fresco Finish acrylic paints - and I gotta tell you the demo was brill and that the paints are just gorgeous!!  It was lovely to finally meet Jo as I've followed her blog for a while now - hi Jo *waving*!!  And you guessed it I just HAD to have some of the lovely paints - and of course when I've used them I will post up what I create!  I'm seeing my Mum and Sister this week so really looking forward to that - so might not get as much crafting done.... but will be back soon.

and here is a photo that I took:-
As you can see we had a jam packed stall !  Anyway we both collected a few pennies each! - and were delighted with our takings.  We still have a lot of bits left and are considering doing another fayre this year.... and I'm thinking of setting up an ETSY or FOLKSY shop!!!!

Nothing quite beats the feeling you get when people buy your handmade creations - Shirley and I had such a fantastic day.

Here is a photo of one of my little gift boxes that I made and sold:-

I could decorate these little boxes all day - I so enjoyed decorating them.  I have a few more that I will be posting over the coming weeks no doubt!

I'm entering my little box into these challenges which I think it qualifies for....

10 November 2011

I've been a busy bee lately....

You may or may not have noticed that I've not been posting as much as I usually do... there is a reason - I've been a busy bee getting ready for a craft fayre that I'm doing on Saturday with my crafting buddy Shirley.  We are both soooo excited!!

Originally we were just going to make cards to sell, but then decided we needed to make other bits and bobs - things like gift boxes, gift bags, note pads, post-it note holders, bookmarks, candles....... I've been having a great time as you can imagine all that crafting......  So today I thought I would share with you a gift bag I've made from an envelope - yep an envelope!  I saw the idea in a magazine and then looked up a couple of tutorials on YouTube and voila:-

OK now I gotta admit that I've shown you the one which is most definitely my favourite (he he!!!)  I stamped the design randomly over the envelope before I scored and folded it.

I thought I would enter this into these challenges this week:-

http://ppp-makeitmonday.blogspot.com/ (Mon) Always anything goes
http://cachallenge.blogspot.com/ - Swirls (Tues)

So I will be back tomorrow with more photos of other bits and bobs that I've been making!  Until then...

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge 92 - Colours of Fall (Autumn)

Hi everyone
Well my Monday posts are getting later and later aren't they!  Well I suppose better late than never....!!! Soooo its Kaboodle Doodles challenge time again and this week we want to see your "Colours of Fall (Autumn)".  We are sponsored this week by Robyns Fetish

and here is my DT card

I've been making cards just recently in the CAS style and this week I've done it again!  I created the striped paper myself just by cutting narrow strips of various "Autumnal"  colours and placed them across the card.  The idea for the card just popped into my head when I was thinking what to do for this challenge - I wanted it to look a bit different for Autumn rather than the usual leaves and tress usually associated with autumn (not that I have any problem with that BTW!!)  I thought that the paper across the card could either be wallpaper or even carpet so I decided that my image would be the chair - well I had to glam it up a little with the chandelier and I had to resist the urge to add any sparkle :-((  !  I finished it off with the simple sentiment (all stamped elements are from a set from Hero Arts BTW).

So there you have it a simple CAS card with the colours of autumn.

Thought I might enter this card into this challenge:-

Until next time...

Less is More - Week 39 - Lucky Dip: Stars

Hi LIMettes

Hope you are all having a great week - I don't know about you but I've been seeing stars......... No I'm not having a dizzy spell just joining in the fun over at Less is More.  This week its Lucky Dip week and the lovely Chrissie and Mandi have choosen: STARSThis week they also have a Guest Designer Vicky - she creates some wonderful cards - go have a looksy!

So on to my card for this challenge:-

I've used a soft grey colour palet for this card to try and keep it CAS.  The sentiment I generated using Word and the lovely star paper is from Pink Petticoat.  I then added the feather to keep it "whimsical" because my sentiment is saying "magical"!

So thats me for today its just gone 3pm and I've gasping for a cup of tea!!!

Be over to see some of my LIMette friends as there are - as always, some stunning cards entered this week.

Take care and until next time...
