Just stitching around

Hi everyone who is taking the time to read my blog today - so glad that you do....

Well you might remember from last week that I purchased a shiney new sewing machine, well I've been having a play and thought I would share this card I made for my sister's birthday (which was yesterday) so couldn't show it before today in case she was catching up on my blog - LOL!

I made my shabby flower from white tissue paper and decided I would cut leaf shapes out too and attached them to my card with my sewing machine - I so chuffed that it came out all right!!

The sentiment I created in Word and printed onto the kraft paper and then die cut the shape I wanted which luckily matches the shape of the card I then matted this on to a larger white shape which I had embossed.

I stretched the zigzag stitch around the outside edge of the kraft paper and added some flowers to the bottom corner to hide the (not so neat join!).  And of course one of my cards wouldn't be fully complete without a bit of sparkle courtesy of these lovely swarovski crystals - although in the photo below they look positively dull (should have used my flash maybe)!!!!!

Anyway that is it!  I'm enjoying using my sewing machine and once I get my craft room sorted out the machine will be upstairs with me rather than on the dining room table downstairs!

Thought that I would enter this card into the following challenges (and this is a lot for me!!!) :-

http://theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/ - Bingo: Die Cuts, Flowers & Gems
http://forfunchallenges.blogspot.com/ - Flowers and sentiment
http://anythingchallenge.blogspot.com/ - Make your own embellishment (tissue paper flower & leaves)

Hope you all have a fabby weekend... and, as always....

Happy Crafting

Gorgeous card Tina. Love the white on Kraft it looks amazing. I'm sure your sister loved it. Looks like you're having fun with your sewing machine. I've got a little mini one in the kitchen so it tends to be a thought to go downstairs and use it. Have to try to keep thinks safe from the pups so can't just keep it handy.

This is so fresh and clean. A perfect "Tina card" as I would say. I bet your sister loved it. I love the white stitching and what a great idea to make the leaves from tissue too.
